How long is the turnaround time?
All items are made in small batches and assembled by hand. Turnaround time is typically 3–5 business days, depending on demand. If you need something sooner, feel free to reach out and I’ll do my best.
Do the bins come fully assembled?
Yes! Each sensory bin arrives fully assembled and ready to play, including the themed base, figurines, tools/scoops, and activity prompts. Just open the lid and enjoy.
What are the bases made from?
Bases vary by theme and may include dyed rice, split peas, lentils, beans, or chickpeas. All bases are coloured with food-safe dye and mixed by hand.
Are the pieces safe for young children?
Bits & Bobs sensory bins are designed for children 3 years and up, or younger with active supervision, due to small parts. Many figurines and components are 3D printed in-house, making each theme unique.
Do you offer local pickup?
Yes! Free local pickup in St. Margaret's Bay/Upper Tantallon is available. Pickup instructions will be sent once your order is ready.
Do you offer delivery or shipping?
Local pickup is available in Nova Scotia (Upper Tantallon). Canada-wide shipping is offered for a flat rate of $12 (CAN), or free on orders $125+. Shipping to the states is a flat-rate of $20 or Free on orders $150+
Do you make custom sensory bins?
Yes — depending on volume. Custom themes, colours, or mixes are available by request. Send me a message through the Contact page or via Instagram.
Are your sensory bases gluten-free?
Many bases are naturally gluten-free (rice, lentils, chickpeas, peas). However, due to small-batch production, cross-contamination is possible, so I cannot guarantee allergen-free products.
How should I store my sensory bin?
Store with the lid on in a cool, dry place. If any base gets wet, spread it out to dry completely before using again.
What if my child mixes everything together?
Totally normal! Sensory play is open-ended — mixed materials are still fun and fully usable.
Can I return or exchange my bin?
Due to the handmade nature of sensory bins, returns and exchanges are not offered. If there’s an issue with your order, please reach out — I always make it right.
